Biography: 

Rachel Klein was hired on December 1, 2002 to fulfill the position of Land Manager. She performs a variety of land related duties including assisting management with responsibilities related to managing and maintaining over 950,000 acres of The Kuskokwim Corporation’s surface estate lands surrounding our ten villages.

Familiar with The Kuskokwim Corporation region, Rachel has experience in land-use, permitting, environmental issues, dealing with state and federal entities and has vast experience working in the Kuskokwim region. Working with the State of Alaska Fish & Game Department and Subsistence Division seasonally out of the Bethel office for the past six years, Rachel has traveled independently to over 30 villages on the Kuskokwim River collecting subsistence and commercial fisheries data. She has worked directly with community residents, tribal councils, elders, city managers and school districts and has also worked at various remote field camp locations.

Ms. Klein was born and raised in Alaska. After attending Service High School in Anchorage, she graduated with a Resource Economics degree from the Colorado College in 1995. Since then she has worked in many places all over Alaska; Bethel, Dutch Harbor, King Salmon, Dillingham, Homer, and Togiak, to name a few. She is currently building a home in Girdwood, AK. She spends virtually all of her spare time downhill skiing and enjoying the outdoors.
